The idea is nice, however you need to use apple build-in text to speech to allow the user to customize the announcement rather than being stuck with your built-on ones; For example: I want the app to tell me: You got an e mail from Lisa, From Nick…. etc. You also need to have the app work just from within apple mail app and remove the dock and menu bar icons. I will wait for the next version to see those changes otherwise I will uninstall.

I gave it 5 stars, but now it doesnt work anymore. Author says hes working on a fix, but it no longer works for me.

This is one of my favourite apps. I started using it many years ago - maybe in the 90s. It wasnt cheap then, but it worked like a charm. Over the years, the app has been improved tremendously, and ironically, at its best, its now free. Customer support has been excellent over the years. Its always good to know where the mail thats just arrived is coming from. It could be urgent; it could be otherwise. This is where this app stands out! The ringtones sound very good - not at all noisy and will not startle you. What more can I say?

Fun and helpful...

I used the old LiSA for years and missed it when it stopped working for me. Glad to have it back at a decent price.

This is very cool.

I remeber this one as well good to hear Lisa live and breathing.

Lisa Speaking Email Assistant

I was impressed with the program, however, my email keeps asking me to add password since downloading this software. Not sure why!!!

interferes with email retrieval

continually prompts for username/password, likely when I phone polling to download emails. Wrote to developer; never heard back.

Some of the glaring bugs in LiSA have been fixed, but it is still severely broken. For a ridiculously simple program, it is using almost 1GB of RAM and 50% of my CPU. What the #^&*#????!!!! Was this written by kindergarten students??? Bizarrely, it only plays back canned phrases, many of which are embarrassingly juvenile or useless. You cant use Apples built-in speech synthesizer to customize the message played when email arrives, e.g., reading the subject of an email or the name of the person its from. Finally, it stores accumulated time announcements while your Mac is asleep. So when I wake up my system, it might read 10 time announcements simultaneously, which is awful. All in all, this program needs a huge amount of work. Im removing it from my system for now.
